Models own polishes…

MODELS OWN POLISHES 3MODELS OWN POLISHESMODELS OWN POLISHES 2
So, like everyone else, I took advantage of the Models Own half price sale this week. You’ve got to love Models Own polishes, so easy to apply, their longevity is amazing, great packaging, & some of the most ‘on trend’ & unusual colours for a pretty reasonable buck!

I managed to bag most of the colours I had been lusting over, unfortunately pink explosion & Emerald City were out of stock :( ah well, hopefully they’ll be back in stock soon!

As you can see, I have got a bit of a ‘thing’ for bright neon nails at the moment. I really am so happy with the colours I bought & as always I am so impressed with the colour quality of the polishes & they come out exactly as  they look in the bottle which is fab! My favourite of them all has to be ‘Tangerine Queen’. It’s so bright! I have never seen a nail polish even remotely like it before.

Did you get anything from the Models Own sale? Leave me your links to your blog posts, I’d love to see what colours you all bought! :)

Face of the day#1

89
MAC Face & body, N2
Rimmel match perfection powder, 103 true ivort
MAC Wonder Woman mineralise bronze/highlighter, Pink power
Rimmel eyebrow pencil, 001 dark brown
Natural collection liquid eyeliner
Maxfactor waterproof false lash effect mascara, black
Elf mineral lipstick, natural nymph
So, here it is, my first ‘face of the day’! I’m still not sure how often I’m going to be doing these as my make-up is basically the same everyday apart from the occasional different lipstick & blusher. Ha! I’ve actually added a couple of eyeliner dots in the corner of my eyes for a bit of a change today, I don’t really know why, I probably just spent too much time on tumblr last night, my inner scene kid is screaming to get out lol ^_^

Also, I bought the Tresemme ‘instant refresh warterless shampoo’ & so far, I’m not really sure what to think. At first it seemed to work but after about an hour my hair seemed to go pretty limp & greasy looking :/ Ah well, I’ll keep you posted.

I want to start of by saying thankyou to you all for being so lovely about my last post :) It’s nice to know that you value my opinion about make-up so there will definitely be more beauty posts on here in the future! :) How do you guys feel about FOTD’s? Let me know what kind of ‘beauty’ posts you would maybe like me to do. ^_^

One of the next makeup posts your going to see on here will be the obligatory ‘nail polishes I bought from the Models own sale’ post. Haha, I’m sure you are all expecting your dashboards to be filled with Models own over the next couple of weeks! Ah well, it’s got to be done, I’m actually really excited to see what colours everyone has bought! :)

Liam gave me this T-shirt at the weekend when he was getting rid of some of his old clothes. I really really like it, even if it does scare me at night. It glows in the dark!

I finally announced the winner of my Dainty Roses giveaway on my twitter last night Thankyou to everyone who entered! The lucky winner was Laura from ‘only half dresssed’.

Barry M peach lip paint…

BARRY M PEACH 2BARRY M PEACH LIP PAINTBARRY M PEACH 4BARRY M PEACH 3BARRY M PEACH 1
Barry M lip paint: 54 Peach
Gosh velvet touch lipstick: 134 Darling
A little bit of a ‘different’ post for me really. I know I said a little while ago that I wanted to make my blog into a little more than just outfits & so it kind of makes sense, being a make-up artist & all, to start up doing beauty/cosmetics posts again, it seems like the most obvious thing to do especially as I want to get back into doing my make-up artist stuff & I feel a little stupid having ‘make-up’ in my blog name when I never post about it, haha.

Anyway, I picked up Peach lip paint the other week on a bit of a whim really. (I have become a little obsessed with orange at the moment so my only proper excuse for buying it is because I liked the colour.) When I first tried it out I was really shocked at how orange it actually was on my lips! Which would be great for a night out or something, but not for my kind of ‘everyday’ make-up. I have been toning down the neon orangyness with a layer of GOSH Darling lipstick over the top which turns it into more of a ‘soft’ peachy/orange which is perfect for my ‘every day’ face. It’s also quite matte so it dried my lips out a little however a little bit of blistex sorted that out, no problem!

I know I keep going on but I really like how ‘peach’ looks against my hair, I wasn’t sure if it would be too much orange but I think it looks sweet! ^_^

Gone goth…

Sheer PU leather detailed shirt: New Look
PU leather shorts: Coco boo
Bralett: Topshop
Boots: DIY
Necklace: Topman
Lipstick: Barry M, peach

I feel incredibly ‘goth’ today & quite frankly, I love it! Black is my favourite colour to wear & playing around with sheer fabrics & PU leather is pretty fun. I bought the shirt from work yesterday even though I shouldn’t have as I am trying not to spend the little money I have left for this month :O ah well, that’s what staff cards are for eh? ;)

I mentioned on twitter this morning that I a little spontaneous DIYing last night & in my eagerness, I took the shoddiest ‘before’ pictures. I am wearing the boots but you can’t see them that well in the pictures. It was the easiest DIY ever & so effective & I really want to share them with you so yeah, you will probs be seeing a DIY post soon so just be warned. :)

‘Another dreaded sunny day’…

DAINTY ROSES VELVET TURBANDAINTY ROSES VELVET TURBAN 2
Denim shirt: Miss Selfridge
Jersey skirt: New Look
Belt: ASOS
Necklace: Topman
Velvet turban: Dainty Roses

I bought the denim shirt after my Primark faulty shirt fiasco. I had seen it weeks ago & been really tempted to buy it but, as usual, I was unwilling to part with £38 for a shirt that doesn’t even have sleeves! :O luckily though, I was browsing around Outfit after work & there it was, in the Miss Selfridge sale for £15, I couldn’t not buy it! :)

Lisa from Dainty Roses kindly sent me a couple of velvet turban headbands last week. I really, really love them. :) Thankyou Lisa! :) I love how the green stands out against my orange barnet. :) They are going to be perfect for me this A/W as I always look like such a douche with a wooly hat on :/ they're going to be a great alternative for keeping my ears warm. Lisa has also been kind enough to set up a two week 2 for £10 offer through this link for you. The headbands normally retail at £7 each so 2 for £10 & with free UK delivery too! Sounds like a pretty good deal to me! :) You have until 31st August to grab yourselves a bargain! ^_^

Ooooh also, my dye pots finally turned up yay! For those of you who have asked me, I bought la richie Directions ‘Manderin’ & ‘Apricot’. I know, you can’t get more orange than that! Eat your heart out Hayley Williams! ^_^

Aviator jacket: Topshop
Cats eyes mesh T-shirt: ROMWE
Shorts: Vintage levis
Belt: New Look
Over knee boots: New Look
If you follow me on twitter, you may already know that Liam & I took a little trip to Jodrell Bank at the weekend to see the Lovell telescope. It was a lovely day out, even if we did get stared at my old people like we were going to mug them or something. Rude old people. >.<

You can probably tell, I’ve dyed my hair again! :O It looks so bright in these pictures, I can’t wait for it to fade just a little then I can ombre it again with my directions dye pots which weren't where they were supposed this morning when I went to retrieve them from the depot, RAWR! I hope they are there tomorrow! Anyway, I really do like my hair now, it’s such a nice change from the blonde & brown I have been sporting for the past 3 years. It makes me feel like a cross between Ariel (yays, one step closer to mermaid hair) & a super hero, hence the post title. Ya know, Jean Grey? From X-men? No, OK I’ll stop geeking out on you then. ;)

Arty…

NEW LOOK FLOPPY HATFLOPPY HAT 7SILVER ARTY RING 4SILVER ARTY RING 2FLOPPY HAT 9
Jumper: New Look
Shorts: vintage levis
Floppy hat: New Look
Necklace: Topman
Faux silver arty ring: Lovehearts & crosses
Just a quickie post of yesterdays outfit. Nothing spesh really haha. Basically just wanted to show you all my fabulous new ring. I contemplated (like many other people) whether or not to buy a YSL ‘arty’ ring for such a long time but I ended up just not bothering as quite frankly, I couldn’t afford to spend all that money on one ring so when I started seeing the faux versions all over eBay, I couldn’t resist! Especially because it is silver too! Although, I will probably cave & buy a gold version too, just because really. ^_^

I actually bought my faux arty from the Lovehearts & crosses eBay store, but you can buy them from their online shop if you are too impatient to wait for eBay listings to end/don’t like bidding wars lolz.

I am actually having trouble taking it off. Obvs because I really like it, not cos I have chunky monkey fingers! haha! ^_^

DIY dip dye shorts…

WHITE LEVIS 501 2DYLON PURPLE AND GREENDIP DYE SHORTS 5DIP DYE SHORTS 6DIP DYE SHORTS 7DIP DYE SHORTS 10DIP DYE SHORTS 8DIP DYE SHORTS 11
Shorts: vintage Levis
Dye: dylon, ‘forest green’ & ‘intense violet’
Studs: this eBay seller
Remember those white shorts I bought at a vintage fair, not to long ago? Well, I knew they wouldn’t be staying white for long! haha. As predicted, I wasn’t getting much ware out of them so, I decided to make them a little more interesting. As you can see I have dip dyed them.

It was a very easy (messy, so if you’re going to do it, I suggest you do it outside!) process. I just followed the dye instructions on the packets & dunked my crisp white shorts into a bucket of dye. & Obviously, no DIY shorts would be complete without studs! Good job I had some left over after making my studded shoes! ^_^

You’ll be seeing these babies in an outfit post soon no doubt!

Charizard…

Floral Bobbie pins: Ditsy Belle
Vest top: Topshop
Pocket jersey skirt: New Look
Cardigan: New Look
Hat: New Look
Belt: ASOS
Necklace: Topman
Tights: Primark

Gosh, I feel like I have so much to say. It’s only been just over a week since I posted an outfit but it feels like forever! I have to be honest, I have been a little reluctant because I wasn’t completely sure about my new fiery do! However, I have got over that now & I am loving having red/orange hair! It’s kind of going back to my original hair colour really, hence the baby pic, I was such a bloody podge! Ha! ^_^ Bloody ginge! ^_^

I was sent the lovely bobbie pins by Samantha (thankyou Samantha ^_^) from Ditsy Belle. Aren’t they lovely? So great for adding that little ‘extra touch’ to your hair. They came wonderfully packaged  retail at £7.50 which I think is very reasonable as they are very well made & the bobbie pins themselves are extremely sturdy which I love! There is nothing I hate more than a bendy bobbie pin! Ditsy Belle also stock a lovely range of vintage style jewellery as well as various other floral headpieces which I have my eye on! I may have to make a sneaky purchase!
