I took a trip to Primark last week & was strangely drawn to this tee dress. It’s not my usual ~style~ whatever that means, but I obviously liked it enough to buy it & I am so glad I did. When I posted a photo of it on my instagram @ twitter (@effiesmakeupbox) a fair amount of you guys asked me how I would wear it as they had bought it too but weren’t sure how to style it, well here you go, my sort of sports luxe look. I think the polo neck underneath adds a bit more dimension to what could be quite a ‘boring’ outfit & the Henry Holland socks (thank you tights please) add the perfect preppy, 90’s, sporty touch.

A bit of a different outfit post today folks! I headed down to Salford Lads Club with my Uncle this morning as I had been complaining about being kind of bored of my current backdrop so he offered to take me to the famous Smiths landmark as he was going to be passing it anyway & so as a HUGE Smiths & Morrissey fan I jumped at the chance to take some photos in one of THE most iconic places ever! As you can see from the photos, it was pretty damn windy & my hair is all over the place ahahaha but I’m really happy with how the photos turned out!

While we were taking the pictures, the curator of The Smiths Room happened to be walking past & asked if we were Smiths fans & invited us in to have a look around the exhibition that had been shown yesterday, obviously we said yes, & headed inside to find a room covered in memorabilia & hundreds of post it notes written by various visitors & fans. My favourite bit had to be seeing a tambourine that a couple had caught when they were at a Smiths concert years & years ago when Morrissey himself threw into the crowd & had now kindly donated it to the club, amazing! Eee, I love it when unexpected things like this happen! (‘:

Also, I know a few of you guys are waiting on my Comic Con post & don’t worry, I will be blogging it very soon, I have just been collecting photos from other people etc

Oh hello overly edited photos ;) I’m starting to get a little bored with my background so I just couldn’t resist sprucing it up a bit with these little bokeh hearts (‘:

This weekend has been a good’un Liam & I spent the day at Birmingham Comic Con yesterday, which was amazing! We ended up getting there way later than we planned as we were stuck in traffic on the motorway for a few hours :/ but alas, even sitting in almost stand still traffic was quite fun as loads of people driving past us had a good ol’ chuckle at our costumes (‘: I will be doing a whole Comic Con Birmingham 2013 blog post probably sometime next week so you can see a little bit of what we got up to,  our costumes & a few others too! This is my new favourite ‘comfy but still looks like I’ve made a bit of an effort’ outfit. I’m a sucker for stripes & dungarees are my fave garment of the moment, so comfy, so versatile, just bloody amazing if you ask me ;)

Also as you are probably all already aware, & you can see the mahoosive banner in my side bar, but it's Company Magazine Blog Awards time again & I have never really bothered with it before but I am a huge fan of Company & would love to get involved! I can’t believe how cold it was when we took these photos, I looked outside in the morning, saw the sun shining & thought that this would be a perfectly weather appropriate outfit but damn, was I wroooong >.< oh hai gale force, icy cold wind! (hence why my hair is a little awol & my face looks kind of depressed lol)

Anyway, horrendous cold aside, I actually love this outfit. Wearing dungarees again makes me feel like such a toddler but ahhhh well, it’s got to be done. I was kindly gifted this pair by Daisy Street for my birthday & I have basically worn them to death since. They aren’t online as of yet but they will be soon so keep your eyes peeled!

How AWESOME is this baseball tee?!?! Bomb diggy amazing if you ask me! The dudes over at The Pretty Junk sent it my was a couple of weeks ago (thank you so much guys!) & I can safely say that I have never loved a tee more in my life, it’s neon pink, which is not usually very ‘me’ but I adore it so much & I can’t recommend it & The Pretty Junk enough guys, seriously, go & check them out, their shop is the bomb! I have my beady eyes on their ‘like a virgin’ crop top, too cute! Roll on pay day! MINKPINK DOFLAMINGO…

It seems so long since I have done an outfit post. I have been super busy again :S But I’m back & I don’t know if you can tell by these photos but I have bought myself a new camera! :) I have been saving up for ages to buy myself a DSLR & I finally did it, it’s a sort of birthday present to myself/first wage slip purchase, but like I said, it’s something I have been saving up for for a long time, & I didn’t just buy it for my blog, I still stand by that you don’t need a DSLR to have good blog photos, hell I have been blogging for almost three years without one & my blog has done just fine, I bought it because I like photography, I’m in no way saying that I am a photographer of any kind but taking photos is a pretty big hobby of mine so buying my Canon 1100D made sense as I know I will get a lot of use out of it for my photo taking habbit & for blog photos :)

Anyway onto the clothes! MinkPink & Out & About kindly sent me this beauty of a dress a couple of weeks ago & I have literally worn it to death since it arrived. It’s such a nice shape, not too clingy, not too short & hangs perfectly. I also love the pleated detail on the skirt, it just ads that little extra dimension. Also, how are you liking my new hat? ;) It’s the exact same as my black H&M one it’s a bit on the girly side of life for me, being pink & all but I thought the dusty pink would be nice for the warmer months & it makes a nice change.
