SweetPea & fay: Lip glosses…

LIP GLOSSES 1LIP GLOSSES234SWATCHES
ULTRA PIGMENTED LIPGLOSS, Nude: Congo Kick*
ULTRA PIGMENTED LIPGLOSS, Pink: Sailors Delight*
SHEER LIPGLOSS, Sheer red: Pixie Blood*
(All lip glosses are photographed in natural light without the flash & are worn over my natural lip colour.)
WHAT SWEETPEA & FAY SAY:
CONGO KICK, ULTRA PIGMENTED LIPGLOSS:
‘’Congo Kick has a mod like feel to it like it’s straight out of the sixties, it looks very orange in the tube but goes on much softer in colour.’’
SAILORS DELIGHT, ULTRA PIGMENTED LIPGLOSS: ‘’Sailors Delight is a pin up inspired, super pigmented hot pink lip gloss. Adds shine & hydration to lips & is long lasting’.’’
PIXIE BLOOD, SHEER LIPGLOSS: ‘’Pixie Blood is super girly & can be worn sheer or built up for a flirty look.’’

WHAT I THINK: First things first, I love the names of all three lip glosses! I always think its fab when a company/brand name their products well rather than just using numbers or plain old colours. I just think it shows that little bit of extra effort has been put into making & branding the products. Also, all SweetPea & Fay lip glosses retail at approx £3.80 which I think is a total steal! :)

ULTRA PIGMENTED LIPGLOSSES:
My favourite of the three has to be ‘Sailors Delight’ because of it’s candy pink colour & it’s fab pigmentation! As well as being pretty moisturising & fairly long lasting, it really does live up to it’s name as an ‘ultra pigmented lip gloss’ as, like the liquid lipsticks, I have hardly needed to use any product to get a great colour pay off & a completely opaque look.  I have pretty much been reaching for this lip gloss every time I have felt like adding a pop of colour to my lips, I am a sucker for pink, ahaahha.

Congo Kick’ has become one of my makeup bag staples recently too. You may have noticed, I wear nude/neutral lips quite often & we all know, there is nothing worse than when it looks like you have just slapped a load of concealer on your smackers. (fyi, I have nothing against wearing concealer on lips, I do it daily, I just hate the ‘flakey ghost lips’ look) So after I apply my concealer/nude lipstick, I have been applying ‘Congo Kick’ over the top to give it a glossy sheen. The orange tinge in it makes my lips look alive even though they are still nicely neutral. It’s not as opaque as ‘Sailors Delight’ once it’s on the lips & is alot lighter than the colour in the tube, but it is definitely buildable & not sticky at all.

SHEER LIPGLOSS:
I feel like such a douche when I wear red lips during the day, I don’t know why, I have no problems with any other colours, I could probably go out wearing bright green lipstick & not be bothered, but there is just something about the colour red that scares me a little. (Does anyone else feel like this?)  But I have actually been confident enough to wear ‘Pixie Blood’ out & about. Yes, I know it’s not exactly the brightest red (hence the name, sheer lip gloss) but it’s red enough for me to wear during the daytime without feeling paranoid that people are constantly staring at my lips. Ahaha O.O It’s a sheer gloss with gold reflex & it gave a nice hint of colour & shine to my lips without being too bright. It just made my lips look a healthy colour & didn’t dry them out at all.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? So what do you think? Which is your favourite? What do you think of the names of the lip glosses? Do you like bright opaque lip glosses or do you prefer lip glosses with just a hint of colour?

Sweet Pea & Fay: liquid lipsticks…

sweet pea & fay4swatches 15sweetpea and fay
SweetPea & Fay are a brand I have known & loved for well over a year now & I was delighted when Amanda from SP&F got in touch with me to tell me that they were re-vamping their little online shop & making lots of new products. I was more than happy to oblige when she asked if I would like to review a few of their products from their new collections as I was so impressed with them last time.

WHAT SWEETPEA & FAY SAY: ‘’J’Adore les levres tubes are VERY VERY pigmented. They glide on with a rich creamy texture & soft vanilla flavour.’’

WHAT I THINK: Both of the liquid lipsticks that I tried were indeed insanely pigmented. I only needed to use the tiniest amount of product on my lips which is great because it means these tubes will last an age! Both colours are completely opaque which again is fab as they have a great coverage without having to use loads of product. Both colours lasted well on my lips, they aren’t long wear lipsticks but they did last  a good few hours after the first application until they needed a little top up. Apocalypse did seem to last on my lips that bit longer, I’m guessing this is because of the hint of lip stain that has been added to it’s particular formula. The lipsticks are lovely & glossy, without being sticky, Hurray! & they are pretty moisturising too.

All in all, I think these liquid lipsticks are a wonderful product & nicely priced at just over £5 per tube & there is an array of different colours to chose from! Whether you are after a nice nude, a classic red or even if you prefer bright pastel shades, you are bound to find a colour to suit.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? What do you think of the liquid lipsticks? Have you tried out any SweetPea & Fay products before? If so, what are your favourites?
