Sorry I’ve been a little MIA the past few weeks, a lot of things have been happening in my life away from the internet & my blog has taken a bit of a back seat. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas & New Year! Aside from the naff side of things that have been going on IRL lots of lovely things have been happening too, having fun with the boy, friends & family, dogs & chickens included ahahaha, I finally met the lovely Kim (Sweet Monday) in real life! Yay, I was caught a little off guard so probably came across as a right weirdo (sorry Kim (‘:) & some exciting shoots with the lovelies at missguided are happening in the the next couple of weeks so I have plenty of stuff to keep me busy :)

This is my new favourite outfit…ever. It’s so comfy yet still looks like I’ve made a little bit of an effort ahahaha. I am going to apologise now because you are all most probably going to get so, so sick of me wearing this hat, I bought it from H&M as a little Christmas present to myself & I haven’t had it off my head since, best £7.99 I ever spent! The jumper is from Primark, I snapped it up in the sales for a fiver, It’s a size 20 so it’s amazingly oversized, just how I like my jumpers, nice & cozy :)

Just a little reminder that you can follow me on instagram (@effiesmakeupbox) if you are at all interested in seeing what I get up to in real life/just want to be nosy ;) also if you have instagram, leave me your username, am I looking for new accounts to follow to fill up my instadash :)

Breathe your smoke into my lungs…

Striped top: H&M
Faux Fur Stole: ASOS
Skinny Jeans: Miss Selfridge
Boots*: OASAP
Bag*: Marc b

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love these jeans! If you follow me on twitter you have probably already seen me raving about them. They are literally THE best jeans that have ever graced my legs. They have everything going for them, super skinny, black, high waisted, super stretchy, don’t go baggy at the knees & most importantly…they are mega comfy! They are on the pricy side of life at £38 big ones, I was lucky enough to get a whopping 60% discount off them though because of my work uniform allowance. If I hadn’t have got the discount, I most probably wouldn’t have  bought them but now I have them, I would say they are more than worth the money if you are looking for the perfect pair of jeans.

The bag is by Marc b & was kindly sent to me by the lovely girls at Etail PR a few weeks ago. It’s such a good sized bag & I love that the strap is adjustable the quality of the bag it’s self is really good quality & the pocket on the front is so useful! It’s definitely a new firm favourite.

DIY denim bustier…

1310129168

LOLZ AT MY TRIANGLE TAN LINES >.<
Bustier: DIY
Skirt: New Look
Tights: Primark

I bought this dress from Miss Selfridge about three years ago & I have only worn it once. I remember buying it because I really wanted a denim dress & I liked the sweetheart neckline. I didn’t particularly like the pointy, flappy, spikey zip things in the skirt but I bought it anyway.

I saw it in my wardrobe the other day & I remembered how much I loved the sweetheart neckline & thought it would be a waste if I didn’t DIY it in some way or another. Anyway, I took my trusty scissors to it, a new zip & a bit of trim later it was transformed it into a lovely new bustier top!

I am really happy with how it has turned out & I am going to get so much more wear out of it now its a top rather than a dress.

What do you think? Did you like it better as a dress or do you prefer my DIY?
