Tie Dye Checked Maxi Skirt: H&M (sale)

All Jewellery*: DIXI

This amazing MINKPINK top made it’s debut on my instagram (@effiesmakeupbox) the other week after the awesomes at MEEMEE kindly sent it to me. I have worn it so much but only just had chance to photograph it today as the weather has been so bloody crap >.< I have said it before & I will say it again, I love MEEMEE so much! They stock some of the best brands & vintage so you must go & check them out here>link.

All of the jewellery I am wearing is from DIXI. I love the moon & star above knuckle ring & wish necklace, just how I like my jewellery, dainty, but a little bit unusual. As you may already know, I am into crystals & I definitely believe in their energy & healing properties, my favourites, & have been for a long time, to wear ‘every day’ are amethyst & rose quartz & I have been super impressed with my rose quartz from DIXI! A new firm favourite! You can shop DIXI here>link.

Do any of you guys wear &/ use crystals? I would love to know!

If you follow me on instagram (@effiemsakeupbox) you may have already seen this beauty! Yes, I can now finally say, after what seems like a million years of yearning for it, I am now officially the proud owner of the MINKPINK cosmic horse dress! I won it in a bit of a bidding war on ebay for a pretty awesome price ^-^ eeee, I hate bidding on ebay so much because so many people ‘don’t know how to bid properly’ bidding days & DAYS before the listing actually ends, pushing up the price >.< (but we’ll not get into that now) but I do love a good win, ‘last second ebay sniper’ is my name & ‘winnning’ is my game ;) lol did I really just write that? Ahahaha (‘: Gotta love ebay!

You have probably seen these necklaces before too, they are from Empty Casket! I can not recommend Empty Casket more, it is one of THE most amazing jewellery shops! Seriously, if you are into crystals or just awesome jewellery in general, you NEED to go & check them out, here>link.

It seems so long since I have done an outfit post. I have been super busy again :S But I’m back & I don’t know if you can tell by these photos but I have bought myself a new camera! :) I have been saving up for ages to buy myself a DSLR & I finally did it, it’s a sort of birthday present to myself/first wage slip purchase, but like I said, it’s something I have been saving up for for a long time, & I didn’t just buy it for my blog, I still stand by that you don’t need a DSLR to have good blog photos, hell I have been blogging for almost three years without one & my blog has done just fine, I bought it because I like photography, I’m in no way saying that I am a photographer of any kind but taking photos is a pretty big hobby of mine so buying my Canon 1100D made sense as I know I will get a lot of use out of it for my photo taking habbit & for blog photos :)

Anyway onto the clothes! MinkPink & Out & About kindly sent me this beauty of a dress a couple of weeks ago & I have literally worn it to death since it arrived. It’s such a nice shape, not too clingy, not too short & hangs perfectly. I also love the pleated detail on the skirt, it just ads that little extra dimension. You can see the whole MINKPINK Sping 2013 collection here>link & all bloody brilliant! :) Thank you so much Out & About! Shop MinkPink here>link

Also, how are you liking my new hat? ;) It’s the exact same as my black H&M one it’s a bit on the girly side of life for me, being pink & all but I thought the dusty pink would be nice for the warmer months & it makes a nice change.

ps: Thank you for all your lovely birthday messages on Thursday, you beauts! <3

Candy hair…

CANDY HAIR 7LIGHT PINK HAIR EXTENSIONSLIGHT PINK HAIR EXTENSIONS 1CANDY HAIR 2CANDY HAIR 11
REVIEW
WHAT HAIR TRADE SAY: ‘’Hair highlights is a wonderful and affordable way to change your look. Many celebrities are able to give themselves a sun-kissed look within a quick salon visit. Normally, those highlights generally need to be touched up every 2 to 3 months and have to keep the same style during this 2-3 months. By choosing the clip in highlight products, You can change your look frequently and instantly.’’

WHAT I THINK: I have never been the biggest hair extension wearer in the world but I think colour extension highlights are a great idea. You can get this seasons coveted pastel hair without the commitment or hair damage. If you have been reading my blog for a while, you might remember when I sprayed my hair pink. I did love it but because of my damaged hair, some of the colour stuck even after I washed the spray out & it dried my ends out too. With the highlights there is no damage so they are a great solution to the whole hair drying out problem & obviously, you can simply put them in & take them out as you please so there’s no need to worry if the colour is going to wash out properly or not.

The extensions themselves are really comfortable, I can can hardly feel them when I have them in, & they stay secure to my hair until I decide when I want to take them out. The hair it's self  is pretty soft, & easy as my own hair to heat style.

All in all, I think that extension highlights are a great product. They come in an array of colours so if you are looking for something a little more natural or even a little brighter, there is sure to be a colour to suit.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? Will you be going pastel this season? Have you ever tried extension highlights?

Nude spots…

SPOTTY NAILS 2SPOTTY NAILS 3
Rhinestones: here
You may have seen me moaning on twitter before that it took me over an hour & a half to remove my nail varnish so that I could paint them again. I have no idea why, but the clear nail varnish (it was just a non brand cheap one) I used as a top coat was stuck to my nails like superglue & I ended up having to soak each nail in a nail varnish remover drenched cotton pad, it was a painfully slow experience O.O

But hey I managed to get it off so I could paint these lovely dots on my nails, yay! ^_^ I know they are nothing special but I really like spotty nails at the moment, they are dead easy to do, take no time at all & look really smart when they are finished, it really is a nail design for everyone, so if you are just starting out experimenting with nail art, I’d give these a go! ^_^

WAAAAAAAAH!!!…

6WONDER WOMAN BRONZER 4WONDER WOMAN BRONZER 3MAC WONDER WOMAN MSF  WONDER WOMAN BRONZER 1
I’m going to sound really shallow when I say this but hey, breaking this MSF was one of the most devastating moments of my life. I actually cried. Sad, I know, but hey it cost me a fair few pennies!

As you have probably already guessed, the first mini montage of pictures is of my MAC Wonder Woman mineralise skin finish in all it’s brand new glory back in March, when it was all still in one piece. All I can at is that I was pretty ‘lucky’ that the highlighter sections didn’t fall out, otherwise, I would have been pretty screwed.

After I had mourned my beloved bronzer, ahaha, memories of numerous ‘how to fix powder make-up’ videos came flooding back! I watched a few & noticed that everyone was using something called ‘rubbing’ alcohol to, in effect, stick the powder back together. I then got all sad again because I didn’t have any of this ‘rubbing’ alcohol & I read somewhere that regular alcohol like vodka doesn’t work. :( Anyway, after sulking for a little while longer, I remembered that hand sanitiser has alcohol in it! YAY! I wasn’t sure if it would work but I thought I would try it anyway, just to see… & IT FREAKING WORKED LIKE A DREAM!!! ^_^ (even though it looks like a smeary poop.)

Moral of the story kids…don’t kick your make-up bag half way across the room when your angry, you will break your stuff! lol

Cemetery gates ☾ †…

Wolf sweater: POP Boutique @ Wonderland Vintage
Pink diamante shorts: River Island
Tights: Primark
Necklace: Topman
Watch: New Look

I do love my wolf sweater. My next mission is to find an oversized wolf vintagy T-shirt, preferably tie dye or purple, so if anyone knows of such a T-shirt, please point me in the right direction. ^_^

So you may have noticed my hair is a bit blonder than usual. I did ombre it again the other day & I am really happy with it. I did make a video of how I did it & it has been getting a mixed response. I don’t know weather is because people really don’t like change or whether they genuinely think it looks shit but to be honest, I don’t think it looks that different, just a little more blonde than usual.

Also, like I have said before, I am slowly making a few little changes/updates to the blog & you can see that I have formatted this outfit post slightly different than usual so let me know what you think. Do you prefer pictures to be edited together or do you prefer bigger pictures?
